I first heard Earl Bostic play Flamingo on a '78'about two years ago, and it enthralled me. His saxophone definitely has either a sore throat or a hangover (probably both!), but the result is some of the raunchiest and exciting playing one could wish to hear. 'Flamingo'is, to me, his best piece, but it's well worth buying the CD just to hear it/5(10).
